Gudbrandsjuvet Café is a modern café and visitor building at Gudbrandsjuvet in Valldal, Møre og Romsdal, Norway. The building is part of the Norwegian Scenic Route Geiranger–Trollstigen and sits beside the dramatic Gudbrandsjuvet gorge, where the Valldøla river cuts through narrow rock formations and waterfalls. The café is known for its glass walls, dark modern design and distinctive concrete interior walls, some of which have symmetrical circular openings and small plant details. The contrast between raw concrete, glass, water, rock and surrounding forest gives the location a very recognisable architectural identity.
Gudbrandsjuvet Café appears in Succession, in “Kill List”, episode 5 of season 4. The episode uses several locations around Møre og Romsdal during the Norway retreat, including Juvet Landscape Hotel, Romsdalsgondolen, Eggen Restaurant, Nesaksla and Gudbrandsjuvet. The café appears as one of the social and negotiation spaces connected to the meeting between Waystar Royco and GoJo.
In Succession (2023), Gudbrandsjuvet Café appears in “Kill List”, episode 5 of season 4. The scene brings together several people from both Waystar Royco and GoJo in a modern glass-and-concrete setting, where they mingle, talk and are served finger food. The building is easy to recognise from its glass walls and the concrete partitions placed around the interior, with symmetrical circular openings and plants set into some of the holes. The café’s sharp modern architecture and dramatic natural surroundings fit the episode’s portrayal of Lukas Matsson’s Norway as controlled, remote and carefully staged. Rather than a traditional restaurant or hotel room, the scene uses Gudbrandsjuvet Café as a polished but slightly cold meeting space, where social conversation and corporate tension occupy the same room.
