Photo and Screen Reference Policy

That Film Spot documents real places used in film and television. Photographs, maps and screen references are used to help readers understand how a location appears in the real world and how it connects to what is seen on screen.

Original location photographs are used wherever possible. Unless otherwise stated, photographs of filming locations on That Film Spot are taken by the site and are used to document how the places look outside the productions in which they appear. These images are an important part of the archive, especially for locations that have been visited and photographed directly.

Some pages may also include screen references from films or television series. These are used only where they help identify, compare or explain a filming location. Their purpose is editorial and documentary: to show how a real place was used on screen and to help readers understand the connection between the production and the location.

Screen references are not used as a substitute for original location photography. The focus of That Film Spot is the real-world location, not the reproduction of film stills, television images, posters or promotional artwork.

Film posters, promotional images and production artwork may be used sparingly where they help identify a film or television title, but they are not the main purpose of the site. That Film Spot is a filming location archive and travel guide, not a gallery of film or television artwork.

Images are selected with care and kept relevant to the location or production being documented. Where original photographs are available, they are preferred. Where screen references are used, they are intended to support identification, commentary, comparison and location documentation.

That Film Spot respects the rights of photographers, studios, distributors, broadcasters and other rights holders. If you are a rights holder and believe that an image or screen reference on the site should be reviewed, corrected, credited differently or removed, please contact us with the page URL and relevant details.

Requests are reviewed manually. If an image is found to be inaccurate, unnecessary, wrongly credited or unsuitable, it may be updated or removed.
