Gemini Man is a 2019 science-fiction action thriller directed by Ang Lee and starring Will Smith in a dual role as Henry Brogan, an ageing elite assassin who suddenly finds himself hunted by a younger, faster version of himself. Also starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Clive Owen and Benedict Wong, the film mixes espionage, cloning and pursuit thriller elements with a more personal conflict built around identity, ageing and control. One of its most talked-about aspects was its heavy use of digital de-ageing and high-frame-rate presentation, which made the film stand out technically even more than it did as a conventional action story.

The film was shot across several countries, and that international spread is a major part of its visual character. Budapest was one of the main production hubs, supplying both studio work and striking city locations such as Matthias Church, Szรฉchenyi Thermal Bath, Fishermanโ€™s Bastion, Heroesโ€™ Square and the area around the Hungarian Parliament. Cartagena in Colombia gave the film some of its most colourful and historic urban scenery, while Belgium was used for the opening train-assassination material, including the modern Liรจge-Guillemins railway station. The production also filmed in Georgia, where quieter waterside and small-town surroundings helped shape the filmโ€™s American sections, and some New York work was also part of the overall shoot. Altogether, the locations move from grand European architecture and old fortified streets to tropical colonial cityscapes and more grounded American settings, which helps the film feel broader and more mobile than a single-city thriller.
