Autopluggen is an independent car repair workshop at Nils Hansens vei 18 in Bryn, an industrial and commercial district in eastern Oslo, Norway. Operated by Anders Hakkim, the business has been registered since 1995 and is an authorised workshop providing vehicle maintenance, mechanical repairs and periodic roadworthiness inspections. It is also affiliated with the Norwegian automotive service network SjekkPunkt. The premises occupy a modest industrial building surrounded by the workshops, warehouses, commercial properties and transport infrastructure that characterise much of the neighbourhood. Nils Hansens vei itself was named in 1969 after Nils Hansen (1875–1966), a former railway workshop foreman and chairman of the local residents’ association. Autopluggen is situated close to an elevated road, which gives the immediate surroundings a rather enclosed, utilitarian appearance. Coincidentally, the Norwegian National Criminal Investigation Service, Kripos, has its headquarters only a short distance away at Nils Hansens vei 25.

Autopluggen has appeared in Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole (2026), the Netflix crime series starring Tobias Santelmann as Oslo detective Harry Hole. The production used the workshop and the surrounding area beneath the nearby bridge for a sequence in the opening episode, «36 Seconds», in which Harry attempts to locate a suspected weapons trafficker by questioning two people sitting in a parked car. The location is one of more than 160 sites across Oslo used during the series’ production, which took place between May and December 2024.

In Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole (2026), Autopluggen appears in the opening episode, «36 Seconds», during Harry Hole’s investigation into Sverre Olsen, a drug dealer and suspected weapons trafficker who may have information about an unsolved bank robbery. After learning that narcotics officers have recovered a rare Česká Zbrojovka pistol from Olsen’s garage, Harry travels to the industrial area around Nils Hansens vei to find him. The scene takes place beneath the bridge beside Autopluggen, where Harry approaches a young man and woman sitting in a parked car and asks whether they know Olsen’s whereabouts. When he discovers that Olsen has another hideout, the pair attempt to drive away, prompting Harry to stop their vehicle and demand the address. The man, Roy Kvinsvik, is initially reluctant to cooperate, while his female companion reminds Harry that Norwegian police officers cannot simply threaten people with firearms. Harry changes tactics and offers them 300 kroner for the information, gradually increasing the amount to 500 and eventually 800 kroner when they refuse to talk. The woman points out that bribing them would also be illegal, but the pair nevertheless reveal that Olsen can be found at Schous plass, beneath a bridge. Having obtained what he needs, Harry cheekily withdraws his offer, agreeing that paying them would indeed be against the law and adding that he has already promised his girlfriend he will buy a bottle of wine. The brief encounter establishes Harry’s unconventional approach to police work, with Autopluggen’s worn industrial surroundings providing a suitably unpolished setting for the exchange.
