Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is a 2023 adventure film directed by James Mangold and the fifth and final big-screen appearance of Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones. Set in 1969, the story follows an older and more worn-down Indy as he is pulled into a race for Archimedesโ€™ Dial, a mysterious device linked to time fissures, Nazi ambition and his own unresolved past. The film leans more heavily than some earlier entries on age, regret and the passage of time, while still delivering the familiar mix of chases, ancient riddles, betrayals and large-scale set-pieces that define the series.

The film was shot across England, Scotland, Italy, Morocco and studio facilities at Pinewood, giving it a wide geographical range very much in keeping with the series. Pinewood Studios handled much of the large interior work, while Bamburgh Castle in Northumberland and the Leaderfoot Viaduct in the Scottish Borders were used for the World War II prologue. Glasgow doubled for 1969 New York, with its city centre transformed into Manhattan for the Apollo 11 parade scenes. Later in the film, Sicily became especially important, with filming in Syracuse, Cefalรน, Marsala, Castellammare del Golfo, the Temple of Segesta and the Neapolis archaeological park, helping create both the Mediterranean adventure atmosphere and the storyโ€™s link to Archimedes and the ancient world. Morocco was also used for parts of the chase material, adding another layer of heat, dust and old-world texture to the filmโ€™s globe-trotting look.
