Karen Allen (born 5 October 1951) is an American actress best known for playing Marion Ravenwood in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), one of the most memorable characters in the Indiana Jones series. She also starred opposite Jeff Bridges in Starman (1984), a performance that earned her a Golden Globe nomination, and appeared in films such as Animal House (1978), Scrooged (1988), and The Perfect Storm (2000).
Allen returned to her signature role in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023). Alongside acting, she has worked in theatre and has been involved in creative work beyond film, including running a textiles-focused business, reflecting a long-standing interest in craftsmanship and design.
