The Otomí Ceremonial Center is a, 50-hectare, modern, pre-Hispanic-inspired complex in Temoaya, State of Mexico, inaugurated in 1980 to preserve, promote, and honor the Otomí culture. Located on the “Cerro La Catedral” mountain at 3,200 meters above sea level, it features distinct architectural plazas, sculptures, and a museum dedicated to the Otomí people.
The Otomi Ceremonial Center served as the primary filming location for Franz Sanchez’s drug factory/laboratory in the 1989 James Bond film Licence to Kill. Situated near Toluca, this striking, modern-meets-ancient complex appears in the film’s climax, with key scenes featuring the iconic, large-scale, paved, and stone-sculpted areas.
