Tatiana Restaurant & Nightclub is a Russian and Eastern European restaurant and entertainment venue at 3152 Brighton 6th Street on the Riegelmann Boardwalk in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. The large waterfront restaurant combines dining with live music, dancing and elaborate cabaret-style floor shows and has long been associated with the Russian-speaking community that became an important part of Brighton Beach from the late twentieth century onwards. For many years it was accompanied by Tatiana Grill, a separate but closely connected sister restaurant a short distance away on the boardwalk at 3145 Brighton 4th Street. Tatiana Grill offered more casual dining and operated from a different premises, despite sharing the Tatiana name. This distinction has caused some confusion in filming-location records, particularly in connection with Anora (2024): that film did not use Tatiana Restaurant & Nightclub, but the former Tatiana Grill location, which is now occupied by Azure Lounge Restaurant.
Tatiana Restaurant & Nightclub appears in Bored to Death (2009–2011). The first-season episode «The Case of the Lonely White Dove» (2009) makes extensive use of the restaurant during Jonathan Ames’s investigation into a missing Russian singer, incorporating its dining room, entertainment and Brighton Beach atmosphere directly into the story.
In Bored to Death (2009–2011), Tatiana Restaurant plays an important role in the first-season episode «The Case of the Lonely White Dove» (2009). Jonathan Ames is hired by Dmitri, a recently released Russian prisoner who wants him to find Irina, a singer known as the Lonely White Dove with whom he spent a single night shortly before going to prison. Unable to visit her himself without violating his parole, Dmitri sends Jonathan to Brighton Beach. Jonathan first visits Tatiana alone to investigate, asking about Irina while being drawn into the restaurant’s food, vodka and nightlife. He learns that a singer called the Lonely Sparrow is scheduled to perform and returns the following evening, bringing his former girlfriend Suzanne along with Ray and Leah. Jonathan presents the outing as the Brighton Beach evening he had repeatedly promised Suzanne while they were together, but his real purpose remains the investigation. When the singer appears, Jonathan attempts to determine whether she is Irina, attracting the attention of men associated with her and eventually being thrown out of the restaurant. The search later continues onto the Brighton Beach boardwalk and beach, where Jonathan and Dmitri discover that the proposed reunion with Irina is actually a trap connected to Dmitri’s criminal past. Tatiana is therefore used throughout much of the episode rather than for a single establishing shot, with its real dinner-club atmosphere providing the setting where Jonathan’s detective work collides with his unsuccessful attempt to repair his relationship with Suzanne.
