Abbesses is a famous, historic Paris Métro station on Line 12 in Montmartre (18th arrondissement), renowned as the deepest station in the network at roughly 36 meters (118 feet) below ground. Opened in 1912, it is iconic for its original Art Nouveau entrance designed by Hector Guimard and its, deep, mural-covered spiral staircase.

Abbesses Metro Station in Paris is famously associated with the 2001 film Amélie (Le Fabuleux Destin d’Amélie Poulain), appearing in scenes where the title character leads a blind man. While often cited as a filming location for the movie, the interior station scenes were actually shot at the disused Porte des Lilas station.

The station was used in The Tenant (1976) when Trelkowski and Badard parting ways.
