No Time to Die is a 2021 James Bond film directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga and the fifth and final appearance of Daniel Craig as 007. The story finds Bond retired from active service in Jamaica, only to be drawn back into danger when Felix Leiter asks for help with a mission involving a kidnapped scientist and a deadly biological weapon. Compared with many earlier Bond films, it places unusual weight on age, loyalty, love and consequence, bringing Craigโ€™s version of the character to a more emotional and final conclusion while still using the seriesโ€™ familiar mix of espionage, exotic travel, action and spectacle.

The film was shot across Italy, Jamaica, Norway, the Faroe Islands, Scotland, England and Pinewood Studios. Jamaica is used for Bondโ€™s life after MI6, especially around Port Antonio, giving the opening stretch after Matera a warmer and more relaxed atmosphere before the spy plot begins again. Italy supplies some of the filmโ€™s most dramatic imagery, with Matera, Gravina in Puglia, Maratea and Sapri used for the pre-title sequence, including the DB5 chase through Materaโ€™s stone streets and the bridge scene in Gravina. Norway appears in the snowy childhood sequence and later through the Atlantic Ocean Road, while parts of the Norwegian escape route were also completed in Scotland and England. The Faroe Islands, especially Kalsoy, provide the isolated island landscape connected to Safinโ€™s lair, while London locations such as Whitehall, Hammersmith and Senate House bring the story back into the world of MI6. Pinewood Studios handled much of the large-scale interior and set work, including environments that expand the film beyond what could be captured on location.
