Blackadder is a renowned British historical sitcom that consists of four main series (or seasons), which originally aired on BBC1 between 1983 and 1989. Each series is set in a different era of British history and stars Rowan Atkinson as the scheming Edmund Blackadder, alongside Tony Robinson as his servant, Baldrick.
Blackadder was primarily filmed in the United Kingdom, with notable location shooting for the first series at Alnwick Castle in Northumberland, England. Interior scenes and subsequent series were largely produced at the BBC Television Centre in Shepherd’s Bush, London.
