Country

Country: Slovenia

Slovenia has attracted filmmakers with its Alpine scenery, emerald rivers, forests, caves, castles and historic towns. The Soča Valley is the country’s most recognisable international filming location, used for the Fords of Beruna sequence in “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian”. Predjama Castle near Postojna appeared in Jackie Chan’s “Armour of God”, while other Slovenian landscapes and historic locations have been used for films and television productions such as “Death Train”, “Red Tails” and “The Wheel of Time”. With the Julian Alps, Lake Bled, Ljubljana, karst landscapes and medieval architecture all within a relatively small area, Slovenia offers a compact but varied filming environment for fantasy, adventure, historical drama and European-set productions.
