Bergdorf Goodman appears in Arthur (1981), Someone to Watch Over Me (1987), Ocean’s 8 (2018), Sex and the City, and The Muppets Take Manhattan (1984). Among these, Arthur (1981) and Someone to Watch Over Me (1987) are two of the clearest screen uses directly tied to the store itself.
In Arthur (1981), Bergdorf Goodman is used in the scene where Arthur goes shopping and spots Linda shoplifting a tie for her father. He follows her out of the store, leading into their first meeting near Grand Army Plaza.
In Someone to Watch Over Me (1987), Bergdorf Goodman appears as one of the film’s Upper East Side luxury locations. The store is part of the wealthy Manhattan world surrounding Claire Gregory and is specifically listed among the production’s New York filming locations.
In Ocean’s 8 (2018), Bergdorf Goodman appears in the sequence where Debbie Ocean goes on a luxury shopping spree and steals cosmetics and designer items from the store. The location is used directly as one of the film’s Fifth Avenue fashion landmarks.
In Sex and the City, Bergdorf Goodman is used as one of Carrie Bradshaw’s best-known shopping locations and forms part of the series’ luxury Manhattan geography.
