The Shelley is an apartment building in Los Angeles, at 755 South New Hampshire Avenue in Koreatown. Although Seinfeld is set in New York, this building was used for the exterior façade of Jerry Seinfeld’s apartment building throughout the series. The building was constructed in 1928 and is one of the most recognisable television apartment façades of the 1990s.

The Shelley appears in Seinfeld (1989–1998). In the series, it serves as the exterior of Jerry’s apartment building, even though the character’s address is given as 129 West 81st Street in Manhattan. That contrast between the fictional New York address and the real Los Angeles façade has made the building one of the show’s best-known location curiosities.

In Seinfeld (1989–1998), The Shelley is seen in the recurring exterior shots used to establish Jerry’s apartment building between scenes. It is not tied to one single episode or storyline, but functions as one of the series’ standard visual markers, appearing again and again as the outside of the building where Jerry, Kramer, and Newman live.
