Jason Alexander (born 23 September 1959) is an American actor, comedian, and director best known for playing George Costanza on the sitcom Seinfeld (1989–1998). With a background in theatre and musical performance, he brought a tightly controlled mix of insecurity, vanity, and frantic energy to George, turning the character into one of television’s most iconic comic creations.
