Clueless (1995) is an American teen comedy written and directed by Amy Heckerling. Loosely based on Jane Austen’s “Emma”, the film stars Alicia Silverstone as Cher Horowitz, a rich, stylish and well-meaning Beverly Hills teenager who tries to improve the lives of the people around her while remaining completely unaware of her own romantic feelings and personal blind spots. With its sharp dialogue, fashion, slang and bright Los Angeles setting, Clueless became one of the defining teen comedies of the 1990s.
The film was shot across Southern California, with several Los Angeles-area locations used to create Cher’s Beverly Hills world. Occidental College in Los Angeles stood in for the exterior campus of the fictional Bronson Alcott High School, while Ulysses S. Grant High School in Valley Glen was used for school interiors. Cher’s house was filmed in Encino rather than Beverly Hills, and other recognisable locations include the former Westside Pavilion mall, Circus Liquor in North Hollywood, Rodeo Drive, Beverly Wilshire and the Spadena House, better known as the Witch’s House.

Circus Liquor
Circus Liquor appears in several films, like Clueless (1995), Blue Thunder (1983), and Alpha Dog (2006).
