Pax

Pax is a 2011 Norwegian-Swedish drama directed by Annette Sjursen and written by Sjursen together with Lars Saabye Christensen. The film begins with a terrifying mid-air crisis when an engine explodes on a Boeing 737 travelling from Stockholm to Oslo, but rather than becoming a conventional disaster movie, it shifts into an ensemble drama following a group of interconnected characters whose lives are altered by the event. With a cast that includes Ellen Dorrit Petersen, Kyrre Haugen Sydness, Ida Elise Broch, Samuel Frรถler, Kristoffer Joner, Anneke von der Lippe, Pia Tjelta and Ane Dahl Torp, the film aims for an emotional, multi-character structure built around fear, trauma, chance and human connection.

The film is tied thematically to both Norway and Sweden, with the journey between Stockholm and Oslo forming the central axis of the story. The available public sources clearly identify it as a Norwegian-Swedish production and describe the key setting as a flight between the two capitals, which gives the film a distinctly Scandinavian framework shaped by airports, aircraft interiors and urban lives on either side of the border.
