Monica Raymund is an American actress and director known for a run of prominent television roles in crime and procedural drama. She first became widely recognised as Ria Torres on Lie to Me, then reached a much larger audience as paramedic Gabriela โ€œGabbyโ€ Dawson on NBCโ€™s Chicago Fire, a role that made her one of the seriesโ€™ central figures for several seasons. She later starred as Jackie Quiรฑones in the crime drama Hightown, anchoring the series with a tougher, more character-driven lead performance. Alongside acting, Raymund has also worked behind the camera, directing episodes of television and continuing to expand her career into more creator-led work. She has directed several episodes for the Dexter spin-off series Dexter: Original Sin and Dexter: Resurrection.
