Sky Ferreira (born 8 July 1992) is an American singer-songwriter, model, and actress whose work sits between synth-pop, indie pop, and darker, guitar-driven alternative pop. She first drew attention as a teenager by sharing self-written songs online, which led to a recording deal and early releases that quickly earned her a cult following.
After the EPs As If! (2011) and Ghost (2012), she broke through with “Everything Is Embarrassing,” a track often cited as one of the standout pop songs of its era. Her debut album Night Time, My Time (2013) leaned more into gritty indie rock textures while keeping pop hooks, and it became her defining release, praised for its attitude, melodies, and uncompromising tone.
Alongside music, Ferreira has built a parallel acting career, appearing in films including The Green Inferno (2013) and Baby Driver (2017), among other projects. In recent years she has released occasional singles while teasing a long-in-progress second album titled Masochism, and she returned with “Leash” for a film soundtrack in late 2024.
