Ving Rhames (born 12 May 1959) is an American actor known for his deep voice, imposing screen presence, and long-running work across film and television. He trained at the Juilliard School and gained wider attention in the early 1990s, with roles in films such as Jacobโs Ladder (1990) and, most famously, as Marsellus Wallace in Pulp Fiction (1994). Rhames became a global fixture in blockbuster cinema as Luther Stickell, the expert hacker and Ethan Huntโs closest ally in the Mission: Impossible series, a role he has played since the first film in 1996.
Alongside action work, he has taken on a range of dramatic parts, including an award-winning performance as Don King in the television film Don King: Only in America (1997). He has also done prominent voice acting, including the character Cobra Bubbles in Disneyโs Lilo & Stitch, and has remained a dependable character actor whose authority and warmth can carry both intense drama and lighter genre entertainment.
