Dutton Ranch (2026–) is an American western drama series and a spin-off from Yellowstone, centred on Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler after the events of the original series. Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser return as Beth and Rip, with the story moving them away from Montana and into a new life in South Texas. The series follows the couple as they try to build a future on a 7,000-acre ranch in Rio Paloma, while facing new enemies, local power struggles and the violent realities of protecting land in a different part of the country. Finn Little also returns as Carter, while the cast includes Annette Bening, Ed Harris, Jai Courtney, Juan Pablo Raba and other new figures connected to the Texas ranching world. The series premiered on 15 May 2026 on Paramount+ and continues the Yellowstone universe by shifting the focus from the Duttons’ Montana legacy to a harsher South Texas landscape of rivalry, survival and reinvention.
Dutton Ranch is set in South Texas, but was filmed mainly in North Texas, with several towns and ranch properties around the Dallas–Fort Worth area used to create the fictional world of Rio Paloma. The central town of Rio Paloma was filmed in Ferris, a small town south of Dallas, while other production locations include Boyd, Cleburne, Weatherford, Dallas, Rio Vista, Fort Worth and Mineral Wells. Although the story follows Beth and Rip into South Texas, the production used North Texas for its light, terrain, ranch properties and small-town settings. Saunders Ranch in Weatherford was used as the Edwards Ranch, one of the series’ most important ranch locations, while a separate property near Fort Worth was used for the rival 10 Petal Ranch. Some early material connected to Montana was also filmed, but the main visual identity of Dutton Ranch is built around Texas: open ranchland, dusty roads, small-town streets, working properties, rival ranches and wide skies that separate the series from the colder mountain landscape of Yellowstone. The move to Texas gives the spin-off a different location identity, replacing the monumental scenery of Montana with a flatter, drier and more exposed ranching world where Beth and Rip must rebuild their lives in unfamiliar territory.
