Peter Dinklage (born 11 June 1969) is an American actor best known for acclaimed, character-driven performances across film, television, and theatre. He became a major international star as Tyrion Lannister in HBO’s Game of Thrones (2011–2019), a role that earned him multiple Emmy Awards and made him one of the series’ defining figures.
Dinklage first gained strong attention with the independent film The Station Agent (2003), and has since built a varied career that includes films such as Elf, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Cyrano, The Toxic Avenger, Dexter: Resurrection and roles in voice acting and animation. Known for sharp intelligence, emotional precision, and an ability to balance humour with intensity, he has remained a prominent presence in both prestige projects and mainstream entertainment.
