Timothy Dalton (born 21 March 1946) is a Welsh actor known for a career spanning stage, film, and television, and for bringing a darker, more intense edge to the role of James Bond. Trained in classical theatre, he built a strong reputation on stage and in British screen work before stepping into international spotlight as 007 in The Living Daylights (1987) and Licence to Kill (1989), performances often noted for leaning closer to Ian Flemingโs tougher, more serious Bond.
Outside Bond, Dalton has taken on a wide range of roles, from period drama and action to voice work and television. His credits include films such as Flash Gordon (1980) and The Rocketeer (1991), and prominent TV roles including the villainous Sir Malcolm Murray in Penny Dreadful and the voice of Mr. Pricklepants in Toy Story 3. Known for his distinctive voice and disciplined acting style, Dalton has remained a respected figure in British and international acting for decades.
