Richard Gere (born 31 August 1949) is an American actor and producer known for a career that spans gritty dramas, romantic hits, and major studio films. He first gained attention in the late 1970s and early 1980s with films such as Days of Heaven and American Gigolo, quickly becoming one of Hollywoodโ€™s biggest leading men.
