Scream 7 is a 2026 American slasher film directed by Kevin Williamson, the original screenwriter of Scream (1996), and the seventh film in the Scream series. The story brings Sidney Prescott back to the centre of the franchise, now with a new Ghostface threat targeting her daughter in the town of Pine Grove. With Neve Campbell returning as Sidney, alongside Courteney Cox, Isabel May, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, David Arquette and several other familiar and new faces, the film shifts the series back toward Sidney’s family and legacy after the New York-set events of Scream VI (2023).
The film was shot mainly in Georgia, with Atlanta and the wider metro area standing in for the fictional town of Pine Grove, Indiana. Production began in January 2025 and wrapped in March 2025, with studio work at Great Point Studios in Atlanta and additional filming in places such as Covington, Douglasville, Smyrna and Midtown Atlanta. The town-square material was filmed in Dallas, Georgia, where the historic courthouse square was dressed as Pine Grove’s central plaza, while other Atlanta-area locations were used for homes, institutional spaces and media-related settings. Rather than returning to the California locations of the original Scream (1996), Scream 7 builds its small-town horror atmosphere through Georgia streets, suburban houses, studio sets and dressed town-centre locations, giving Sidney’s new chapter a different geographical identity while still echoing the franchise’s familiar pattern of ordinary places becoming targets for Ghostface violence.
